How should I prepare brown rice?
|

- Wash or rinse to remove excess loose bran or chaff.
- Bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
- Add 1 cup of rice and a teaspoon of salt (If desired).
- Add a tablespoon of butter or margarine.
- Cover tightly and simmer with lower heat for 40-45 minutes or until rice is tender.
- Remove from heat. Let stand covered for 5 minutes until all water is absorbed.
- Fluff with a fork, to let steam escape.
- Season to taste.
